There's a quote by Picasso, I think?, which I believe is much more accurate - and I paraphrase here - "Art is a lie intended to reveal the truth."
Oh, I like that! My favorite Picasso quote is "I'd like to live as a poor man with lots of money." (ok, so maybe it's the only Picasso quote I know and I read it off the front of the Morningside Height's Bookstore, but still... it's good isn't it?)
